Partnering in the Palisades Recovery
At Civil 33, we are grateful for the opportunity to share our work as a part of the collaborative efforts to rebuild the Palisades community after recent wildfires. As one part of a professional design team, Civil 33 is contributing to several fire rebuild projects in the Palisades, working alongside talented architects and consultants to bring homeowner’s visions to life. The trust our clients place in us to deliver our part of these projects is humbling and inspiring.
The Palisades community is showing incredible resilience. Recent data from a survey conducted by the Urban Land Insititute in collaboration with UCLA and USC indicates that nearly 79% of homeowners are choosing to rebuild their homes, reflecting a strong commitment to restoring their neighborhoods. As of August 22, 2025, 128 rebuild applications have been submitted in the City of Los Angeles, with 371 permits issued - signaling progress toward the recovery of approximately 4,700 affected properties. In April of this year, the Los Angeles Times reported that at least 27 fire-damaged lots had been sold with 164 listed for sale indicating that some homeowners are choosing to sell. Those numbers are likely to have increased over the summer, however the ongoing rebuild efforts highlight the community’s commitment to renewal, despite many obstacles.
At Civil 33, we are honored to play our small role in the collective effort, providing engineering expertise that supports homeowners in rebuilding their lives. Its a privilege to see the Palisades community coming together, and we are committed to delivering quality work that honors the trust placed in us.
